Donnie Yen Chi Tan guest starred in the Lunar New Year film AN INSPECTOR CALLS (FAU WA YIN). Chi Tan this time did not appear with "martial art" but the art of "song and dance".

In order to focus on his IP MAN 3 performance, Chi Tan originally turned down all Lunar New Year film. Yet boss Raymond Wong Pak Ming personally called Chi Tan, so he did not feel right to turn him down. He only had a week to rehearse and record before the Christmas break, the result surprised everyone.

Yen Chi Tan in AN INSPECTOR CALLS played four characters, as he performed a classic song SHERRY that was also the female lead's name in the film. The lead vocal performed the entire song in high octave. Yen Chi Tan not only was able to hit the high notes but also performed the other three harmony voices.

The 60s and 70s famous American music group The Four Seasons originally performed the hit SHERRY. This time Yen Chi Tan had to performed the hit and even imitate their extremely high singing voice, it absolutely was very challenge for him. Yet Chi Tan was able to perform the entire song. Even Wong Pak Ming was excelled in performing English songs asked, "For sure? Such a high voice can't possibly be from Yen Chi Tan!" He was stunned when he found out and praised Chi Tan for being talented all around.
