The Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild organized, the Film Development Fund funded, CreateHK supported 13th Greater China Film Director's Forum took place in Hong Kong. The forum began last Saturday and would last for five days. Yesterday was the forum's fourth day. The event arranged for almost 100 directors to visit the Heritage Trail in the Western and Central districts. The 84 year old Taiwan director Lee Hsing was one of the participants.
Yesterday the itinerary included the Sheung Wan Man Mo Temple, Lascar Row, Blake Garden, the directors were rather interested in the history of Lascar Row, especially when they passed by locations like the Hong Kong Fringe Club that appeared in the film HE IS A WOMAN, SHE IS A MAN (GUM JI YUK YIP). Yet due to rain the trip was cut short. In the afternoon the event arranged for everyone to enjoy dim sum at Lin Heung Kui, a place full of Hong Kong nostalgia. A tea doctor was on hand to discuss the traditional tea making method. Everyone was very curious. They really liked the traditional Hong Kong style dim sum like gold coin chicken and lotus seed bun. After two days of the forum, the event also arranged for the group to enjoy authentic Hong Kong delicacy in Tsim Sha Tsui and Sai Kung. Everyone had a great time.
Yesterday Jackie Chan suddenly attended the forum, his first appearance since his son Jaycee Chan (Fong Cho Ming)'s sentencing. Jackie Chan was casually dressed and spoke in Mandarin as he shared his film experience. He got so excited that he was waving his arms around.
